Located near Payyanur in the Kannur and Kasaragod districts, it's a serene labyrinth of interconnected rivers, canals, and lagoons, fed by the Kavvayi River and its tributaries. This picturesque system is dotted with numerous small and large islands, with Valiyaparamba Island being the most prominent. Kavvayi is known for its unspoiled natural beauty, lush mangrove forests, and traditional fishing villages, offering a tranquil escape for houseboat cruises, kayaking, and experiencing the authentic rural charm of the region. It's a popular spot for tranquil houseboat cruises and experiencing the local rural charm."
Kayyur Village
"Kayyur is a historically significant village in the Kasaragod district of Kerala, India, primarily known as the "land of rebels" due to the famous Kayyur Revolt of 1941. This uprising saw farmers and workers protest against oppressive landlords and British rule, resulting in the martyrdom of four young leaders who were hanged in 1943. Situated on the banks of the Thejaswini River (Kariangode River), Kayyur is recognized as a cradle of the agrarian revolution in Kerala. Today, while still deeply rooted in its historical past, it's also developing as a destination that highlights its natural beauty and the legacy of its brave freedom fighters."
